William G. Skotty Endowed Golf Fund
William G. Skotty Endowed Golf Fund Established in 2006
Donald R. and Anne E. Skotty established the William G. Skotty Endowed Golf Fund to honor the memory of his uncle, William G. Skotty.
William Skotty was a distinguished World War II veteran whose passion for golf was kindled with weekly miniature golf outings in Los Angeles. An avid "duffer" he was a long-time member of the Travelers Golf Association. Mr. Skotty was a baseball letterman while a student in Riverside's Polytechnic High School, and as an adult he was active in local softball leagues. He was married to Patricia Skotty who is an active member of the UCR Retirees' Association. Mr. Skotty was 82 years old when he passed away in January 2006. To honor the memory of his uncle, Donald and Anne Skotty felt that the creation of the William G. Skotty Endowed Golf Scholarship would be a fitting tribute to a man who enjoyed being on the greens with his golf friends and who valued higher education.
