Jack and Marianne Hewitt Endowed Scholarship Established in 1991
Jack Hewitt was the founding chairman of UCR’s Physical Education Department and UCR’s first Director of Athletics. His vision and contributions laid the groundwork for today’s Division I Athletics program. In 1991, following his retirement, he and his wife Marianne planned that after their lifetimes, a portion of their estate would be left to UCR to create a scholarship endowment. This scholarship provides support for UCR’s finest scholar-athletes.
